Nettleham Ladies’ Club was founded in 1961, its motto being ‘Friendship and Fellowship to All’. The Club is now in its 56th year.

There are now over 60 members, and subscriptions are very reasonable at only £12 per year. New members and visitors are always welcome.

Members meet on the last Tuesday of each month [except August and December] in Nettleham Village Hall at 7.30pm commencing with a short meeting, then coffee followed by interesting and informative speakers who present talks, and give demonstrations covering a wide variety of subjects. It’s an excellent way of meeting and socialising, and making new friends.

We have a games night once a year, and an outing for a summer meal at a local restaurant. In November at the AGM we have supper with wine and usually some form of entertainment.

Various fund raising events have taken place over the last 56 years. Thousands of pounds have been donated to deserving causes and charities, including the NSPCC, Village Hall Fund, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Scouts, RNLI, British Heart Foundation, Cancer Charities, Alzheimer’s, the Nomad Trust, Lincoln Street Pastors and many more.

Our Spring Fayre this year will be on Saturday 5th May 2018 in Nettleham Village Hall, starting at 2.00pm, and our chosen charity is ‘Medical Detection Dogs’. These are dogs that are trained to find the odour of diseases, such as cancer. They are trained to detect minute changes in an individual’s personal odour, triggered by their disease, and alert them to an impending medical event. This work is dependent entirely on the generosity of donations from trusts and the public.

Each year the Ladies’ Club run a cake and produce stall at Nettleham Carnival on the village green, and with the large number of people who came last year we were able to give the village hall committee £150.47.

The speakers at our meeting on Tuesday 27th March 2018 are Dave & Jane Newman of Sage Gardener, Lincoln, who will be presenting ‘Flowers from the Garden’.

If you would like to meet people and make new friends, please do come along and join us – you will be most welcome!
