Link to Hope | Shoebox Appeal 2018 | Coffee Morning | Friday 23 February
How time flies! That time has come around when the Link to Hope charity is holding a coffee morning to raise funds
and to discuss this year’s programme for the collection and distribution of filled shoe boxes to be taken to Eastern Europe.
The coffee morning is on Friday 23rd February 2018 at Church View, All Saints’ Lane, Nettleham from 10.00am-12.00 noon, and everyone is warmly invited. We’ll have the usual tea, coffee and biscuits, plus cake stall, tombola, raffle, etc.
Last year a total of 43,996 shoe boxes nationally were sent – including over 400 from Nettleham alone – and these were received with much happiness by families and elderly people.
Volunteers drove vans of boxes to Eastern Europe and saw the distribution of all the generous gifts donated.
The joy of the recipients cannot be underestimated. I have heard of one family who made a tube of toothpaste last for a whole year! Hand knitted hats and other garments were particularly welcome in view of the bitterly cold winters.
Shoe boxes can be filled either for families, children or elderly people. Details of how to wrap and label the boxes will be provided later.

We look forward to seeing you at the coffee morning on Friday 23 February between 10.00am and 12.00noon!
