Buddies Dementia Cafe Meeting | 1st February 2018

This month we have, for the first time, Adele with “Exercise to Music”.

Ann from Walking for Health is here to lead a 30 minute walk around the village after our meeting.

Happy Birthday this month to Samuel Addison and Lesley Chapman.

We are very sad to inform you that one of our first members, John Rickwood, has sadly passed away. John’s widow, Judy, has kindly donated £50.00 to Buddies, part of the collection taken at John’s funeral. We will use this money to pay for Paul next month on Thursday 1st March with “Singing for Dementia”.

We will sing our hearts out in John’s memory.

We are really pleased to inform you that from next month, on Monday 12th March between 2.00 and 3.00pm and thereafter every second Monday of the month, we are starting our very own “Singalong with Buddies Choir”! We are so lucky to have Mary Mitchell from the Nettleham Orchestra who will play the piano, and Liz McIntosh, who conducts the Nettleham Community Choir, together with some members of the choir, who will lead the singing. This is going to be a fun event, so come along and join in – you don’t need to be a singer as long as you have a voice!

Some of you may have heard me being interviewed on BBC Radio Lincolnshire last week when I spoke about the Community Hub and Buddies. They have said they may like to come and do a broadcast from one of our meetings, so watch this space as they say!

Thought for the month: “Things turn out best for people who make the best of the way things turn out”.
