They say “Great oaks from little acorns grow” and that is certainly what happened when Alissa Stevens mentioned on Facebook that Nettleham should have a Christmas market!

There was a wonderful response from the Nettleham community, with lots of interest and ideas to get the ball rolling and hence the start of the Nettleham Festive Market which is to be held on Saturday, 2nd December, 3.00pm to 7.00pm in the centre of the village.

An official committee has been formed and the event has the full backing of Nettleham Parish Council.

The market is to be run as a “farmers” type market, keeping to local produce and crafters with a small selection of charity stalls in the Old School Rooms. We hope in the first instance to provide an opportunity for the village community to come together at this festive time of year. Any proceeds from the event will be given to a charity chosen by the Nettleham community.

We invite anyone who would like to have a stall to send us an expression of interest detailing their products, together with photographs, so that we can put together an idea of numbers and types of stall holders. This information needs to be forwarded to Nichola Lord, Scandigifts, Unit 2, 19 The Green, Nettleham, Lincoln, LN2 2NR.

In the meantime we will be running a series of coffee mornings at The Black Horse between 10.00am and 12.00noon to help raise some much-needed funds to start the venture. The first one of these will be on Monday, 7th March 2017.

Thank you.
