Nettleham resident Lewis Bromfield had a great day at the National Cricket Performance Centre at Loughborough University last October.

Lewis was nominated by Nettleham Cricket Club for Lincolnshire ECB Young Coach of the Year.

Lincolnshire County cricket board considered the nominations received from all the clubs in Lincolnshire and chose Lewis as the winner.

This was a great award for Lewis who enjoys coaching the young players at Nettleham and fits this in alongside playing cricket at club and county level. He hopes to complete his ECB Level 2 coaching award in due course.

Lewis’ certificate presentation was held at Loughborough, where he met the other county winners and former England players Graham Thorpe and Peter Such. Lewis – at age 16, the youngest recipient – received his certificate from Graham Thorpe.

Over the last 12 months, Lewis has volunteered for over 100 hours at Nettleham Cricket Club, and this was recognised by the Lions Club of Lincoln who awarded him the Lions Young Leaders in Service Gold Award.

Lewis is currently working alongside coaches from Lincolnshire County board coaching the Junior Regional Central squads.
