Fundraising for Link to Hope | 2016 Shoebox Appeal | Final Total

It was wonderful to learn that 43,928 shoeboxes had been received by Link to Hope.  Thank you all so much for such a generous response to the 2016 Shoebox Appeal.

I know I gave you all the total received as at the time of writing in the last issue of Nettleham News but the final total of boxes we received was 340 shoeboxes for both families and elderly folk in Eastern Europe.

So many smiles and whoops of delight and even a few tears of joy as folk received their boxes from us all.  So kind of you to care and share.  Do have a look at www.linktohope.co.uk to view the video and read the diaries of those who delivered the boxes.

Thank you too for all the blankets, hats, scarves, teddies, legwarmers, toys and knitted jumpers we were able to send.  Many were packed into shoeboxes but the larger items were handed to folk as the need was realised.

I know many of you are already knitting and making gifts for this year’s appeal and thank you very much – your help is invaluable especially as the temperature in Romania at the moment [end of January] is now minus 18 degrees C.

Many of you were able to sign the Gift Aid Form, meaning that more precious pennies were sent to the charity and, of course, this will benefit all other projects.

Thank you again for your support and generosity.
