The beginning of September has been and gone so quickly and all the scouting units are back in full swing!

A massive THANK YOU to all who came and supported our ‘Breakfast on the Green’ fundraising event which raised £560.00. This included several extra donations and a further cheque for £100.00. We simply cannot express how much your support is appreciated.

FROGS (The Scout and Guide Hut Committee) will be holding the Annual Christmas Raffle and Market on Saturday, 10 December between 10.00am and 12.00 noon. Raffle tickets will be on sale from the units and outside the Coop before the event. Prizes include: £100.00, Christmas treats, wine, chocolates, etc. Come along on the morning and browse the lovely stalls a great opportunity to buy Christmas presents and enjoy coffee and cakes.

Fundraising for the Scouts in 2017

Summer 2017 will see the scouts taking part in The Poacher International Camp, held every four years at the Lincolnshire Showground. As part of the planning for this event, the Scouts look to raise money towards the cost of the camp.

Their Christmas fundraiser is a trail of ‘Christmas Windows’.  Twenty five shops and businesses in the village will be displaying a Christmas Window during the month of December, like a giant Advent Calendar, and trail maps will be available for £1.00 as a route guide to all the displays, together with a voting slip for the ‘Best Window’.

These slips will need to be returned to the Scouts before the Christmas Market/Raffle and the winning window will receive a bottle of champagne. The special Christmas ‘Advent Trail’ windows will all continue to be displayed for the rest of December, which will bring a lovely festive feel to the village this year.

The Beavers had another great weekend at Kingswood, Doncaster…

…and the Scouts set off to Sudbrooke Camp for a 24-hour ‘back to basics’ camp!
