With regard to Nettleham Carnival of Yesteryear (page 45, Autumn 2016 print edition) may I remind readers that film of two Nettleham carnivals from the 1960s/70s era, plus amusing footage of the Boxing Day Pram Race, together with footage of Nettleham church roof on .re, are included in Bygone Lincoln DVD No 4 which is available from Troika and Beckside News.

The cameraman was the late James Brown Snr who made his own amateur film: Nettleham People and Places. As Bygone Lincoln DVD series producer, I was kindly given permission to digitise this film and add a 21st century narration.

Finally, as one of the ‘delivery boys’ for Nettleham News, may I congratulate the Editor, Nigel Kingston, on his long innings and thank him for a terrific contribution to village life. Nigel, along with many other villagers, can be seen in the introduction to the above DVD item when he took the special photograph on The Green at 10.10am on 10 October 2010 a unique date/time of 10/10/10/10/10/10.
