Nettleham News

Last night's 'Camera groups' evening was a great success. We had the Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Panasonic groups. There was lots of chatting and trying out of new settings by all.
I'm sure everyone learned something new from last night's meeting.
It's a great way to find out how to use settings that you don't normally use or that you didn't even know existed. There is usually someone that can help with that nagging question that even google or youtube can't answer.
It was great to welcome a number of new faces to the club last night, Lynn, Carmel, Lee, Kerry and Gordon. All either beginners or improvers who wanted help with how to set up or use their cameras. They had heard via word of mouth or social media that we were having a relaxed 'help each other' type of evening that was suitable for everyone from beginners to experienced, and it didn't matter what kind of camera they had; so they decided to come along and join in.
We hope to welcome them to the club again in the future.
The photo shows everyone getting to grips with their cameras at the different brand tables.
For anyone else that would like to find out more about the club please go along to www.dunholmecameraclub.co.uk
Also, don't forget you can view some of our members work at our continuous exhibition in the 'Gardeners Retreat Tea Rooms' at Scothern Nurseries, Dunholme Road Scothern, open daily apart from Mondays.

Specialist Housing Provider Starts Work in Ingham and Nettleham!

Lace Housing has formally marked the start of the building of its new schemes for older people in two sought-after villages near Lincoln.

The new homes, designed for those aged 55 and over, are being constructed by Lincoln firm Lindum Group in partnership with West Lindsey District Council (WLDC), Thornton-Firkin LLP, Saunders Boston and HWD Architects.

#Harvest18

Harvest is going well, although it’s still very early days. We completed the harvest on one of the farms today, three fields at Scothern. As I escorted the combine to the next farm I had the first real sense that this is the beginning of the end on the farm. I am very much wrapped up in the sale process, and all the administration it entails, but I am still trying to make sure that I make time to be present with the harvest too. I don’t want this final one to pass me by. So hopefully plenty of harvest reports to come and a few trips out in my red tractor and trailer once the wheat starts to come in.

Week 3: What a magical session with a GREAT group of people <3

We explored a walking meditation outside just before the village of Nettleham was poured upon from a strange wet substance that came from the skies(someone said it was called rain) ! We sat quietly learning and practicing how to be more present in our own bodies instead of being over-active thinking machines - an amazing life skill that can free us from habitual and unhelpful patterns of ruminating, brooding, analysing, constantly judging and worrying. Both of these helped us to gather a little BREATHING SPACE - where there's a bit more freedom to CHOOSE what we do next......we are loving this mindfulness stuff from the inside out <3
