t.co/SYnfhxiEnh Nettles win 7-1Brief pre season Match Report
Nettleham after cementing the squad for the upcoming season started there proper pre season away to Retford Fc who are playing out of the Sheffield league this season so was to be a good test.
With 5 debutants and a deputy Goalkeeper and The new nettles looking to settle was already going to be a difficult day.

Ft 1-7

But how wrong was we as the score line did not flatter Nettleham with some sublime football within first 10 mins Nettleham could of been comfortably ahead but was not til Jack Thornton stepped up to slot one in on 10 mins sepearting the two teams. Retford then caused some problems on 20 mins equalised. Wasn’t long before nettleham repied 4mins actually and Shae Oconnor on his debut since signing slots home 1-2. 33mins was the turn of Josh Smart to rifle his 1st of 3 taking it 1-3.

HT 1-3

Nettleham came out and made a few changes but Retford started the stronger making Trialist keeper for Nettleham pull of 2 saves .Nettleham started to settle 15 mins in and increased lead on 61mins Josh Smart getting his second. Quickly followed 4 mins later Josh Smart seals his hatrick.
Retford started to drop there heads a little as Nettleham where relentless Shae Oconnor getting his 2nd on the day on his debut. 1-6 . On 85 mins sky blues awarded a pen and Jack Thornton comfortably slots home.

FT 1-7

Man of Match Hat trick Josh Smart

Jay said” After comfiring signings we have been able to get some work done and get the new lads settled in and Wow some of the football was a pleasure to watch , Real headache this year on team selection but a good headache to have and I am really looking forward to the start of the season , thought the 5 new signings would need time but they clearly dont “

This Thursday 9th August's meeting is a talk / presentation by one of our members Rev Charles Thody on Astro Photography.
Charles will talk about how he achieves stunning images of other galaxies, stars and planets. He will show us some of his photographs and the equipment he uses to get the images he does.
If you've never seen Astro photography before then you are in for a treat, the colour and definition is amazing.
You don't have to be a member to come along to this super talk...just £2 on the door and you too can be amazed by what is above us that we don't usually get to see in so much detail.
We meet at 'The Old School' 8 Market Rasen Road, Dunholme LN2 3QR...doors open at 7.15 with the evening running from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm, with a break for refreshments.
To wet your appetite have a look at a few of his photos below.
If you want to know more about our club take a look at our website at www.dunholmecameraclub.co.uk or pop into Scothern Nurseries and have a look at our exhibition there in their Tea Rooms.

Lincolnshire Lady Farmer
#harvest18

Sadly our combine was broken into a couple of nights ago. Having thought that there was just a fire extinguisher missing we thought we’d been let off lightly. When we looked a bit closer we saw that all the LED work lights had been taken. These are the extra bright lights that allow work to continue through the night when needed (seen in the video below recorded last year). A few bolts and a snip to the wiring loom was all it took.

Having reported this to the police it seems that another three in our area had the same treatment, one of which was ‘safely’ back at the yard. We were very lucky that none of the GPS equipment had been taken, unlike others.

With the early harvest we can still work relatively late without the lights but that’s not the point. I’m sure their resale value is limited but for us to replace them with wiring looms etc will be thousands of pounds even without the labour costs to fit them.

Rural crime is a real problem and it continues to escalate, gloves, balaclavas and working in gangs makes tracking down criminals hard, they work quickly and remain largely unseen. In this instance a camera would have given us a time and how many were involved, but not much more.

Where possible we bring the combine back to base and under cover, but it’s not always possible or practical to do this late at night. In effect we are sitting targets.

Hopefully this will be the last incident reported to the police.
